Bike Night Reviews

11/6 Triple Play in Buford.  I have heard from a few sources that this is supposed to be one of the best bike nights in the state.  I had been putting off going there mostly because I wanted to give the places closer to my house a chance.  I hate having to ride for an hour just to find a decent bike night!! Anyhow, since the evening was warm and there wasn't much going on close to my house, I decided to take a ride out to Buford to check it out.  I am glad I did,  this is what a bike night should be.  There were about 150 or so bikes,  mostly Harleys with a few crotch rockets thrown in.  A good crowd that included a few organized groups.  I saw a few MC patches as well as riding clubs there. Good to know that the place in MC friendly.  The menu was better than you expect at a typical sports bar.  I had a pot roast sandwhich which was very good.  The bike night is sponsored by Biker Brands which is a local store.  The atmosphere was pretty laid back.  They had enough waitresses to make sure that everyone was taken care of.  The girls were cute and friendly but at the same time made sure that everyone got everything they ordered. Per Matt from Biker Brands, during the spring and summer, up to 500 bikes show up for this bike night. I can believe it considering there was 150 of them on a November night.  The bar also is involved with the motorcycle community, they get involved with poker and benefit rides, work with local motorcycle organizations as far as putting on events etc.  Overall, I would suggest this bike night to anyone in the area,  it was worth the hour long ride.  Now if they would only open one up on my side of town.

10/23 Hooters of Canton:  I have heard from multiple people that this is supposed to be the biggest bike night in Ga.  I hit it last night and there were only about 30 or so bikes there.  I will say though that the weather forcast said 60% chance of rain and it was pretty chilly and windy last night.  I suspect that on warmer evenings that this bike night really is a huge on but I just didn't see it last night.

10/15 Saddles Saloon:  Woodstock  I finally hit a bike night with more than 3 bikes.  This is a new place on Bells Ferry rd about 2 miles north of 92 in Woodstock.  The place is a bit more yupscale than a typical place that would have a bike night.  While they do have burgers, sandwiches etc, they also have high dollar steaks and a few other pricy things.  The place itself is decent, it has a few pool tables, video games and can hold a decent size crowd.  The only issue is that since they let kids in, you can't smoke inside.  As far as the bike night stuff goes, there were about 40 bikes and they were giving away some real nice door prizes.  They gave out $1000 worth of gas cards!.

10/12 Nic's Place.  Sunday night is supposed to be bike night.  I rode up there about 9:30 or so and didn't see any bikes.  I didn't go in as I wasn't really there to hang out in  a bar, I just wanted to see what type of bike night they had.  Apparently, not much of one.

10/9 The Origional Side Lines Kennesaw  This seems to be a pretty popular place, however it isn't neccessarily popular with bikers.  There were about 50 or people there last night for bike night but only 2 bikes other than the crew I came with.  Food was pretty good and the atmosphere was pretty good but the crowd was more couples and collage kids.

10/9 Dew's Downstairs.  Dew's really reminds me more of a private club or clubhouse rather than a bar.  It is in the same building but downstairs from Timbers Lounge in Smyrna.  The 2 bars have totally different atmospheres.  Dew's is open only from thurs-sunday.  The place is tiny, it will hold maybe 30 people with a small stage for the band.  The same band plays there everynight, which consists mostly of the guys who own the club.  The drinks are very strong, prices are good and it seems that most people there know each other. The crowd is mostly biker.  If there are 15 people in the place, 10 of them came in on bikes. I have been there about 5 times or so in the last month.  As I said, alot of the people are regulars, they are all bikers.  It is a pretty cool place to check out but as I said, it really is more like a clubhouse than a regular bar.

10/2 Vortex  Little 5 points  Pretty good bike nite.  I got there about 8 or so and there were about 60 or so bikes.  Wide mix of types, alot of sportbikes as well as harleys and MC members.  The food and service were both good and the prices were not too bad.  They have a pretty good size balcony so you smokers are in luck.  There were a few cops stationed there so be careful.

9/24  The Alley: Woodstock.  This one is supposed to be sponsored by one of the big local biker mags.  I didn't see any of them there. Myself, a club brother and my neighbor hit this about 8:00.  At the time there was 1 bike in the parking lot and about 15 people in the bar. We hung out for about an hour bullshitting and listening to the 'band' which consisted of one guy on a guitar with background music playing. The food was decent and reasonably priced.  A few more people and 2 more bikes rolled in about 9 or so.  Finally we got bored and left.  The owner said that everyone was at Thunder Beach and normally it is crowded.  Somehow, I doubt it.

9/16 Flamingo's Pizza:  Cartersville.  My club brother and I hit this bike night only to find out that bike night was cancelled and instead tuesday nights are Seniors night. The waitress promised that we would still receive the regular bike night discounts that they had in the past.  I ordered a 10" pizza and a softdrink and my bill came out to $18.  Not sure what kind of discount I got!!  The pizza was pretty good but it wasn't $18 good.
